SDA Newletter ~ May 2016
Many
women have been great and two of them have had me captivated this
whole month. Their stories are full of romance, hope and
encouragement and give honor and glory for the place of women for
today. Both women's exciting story was in God's choice for the
direct line of succession for Jesus earthly life when you look at
the history of genealogy, the other, a chosen woman looking after
her vineyard.
Their
names are Ruth the Moabitis and Shulamite, from the Song of Solomon.
Ruth,
the Moabitis, came from a heathen land that did not know a Creator
God, until her mother in law introduced her to Him and she longed for
peace. She lived through many years in a strange country, death of a
mate, famine, loss of friendship, moving again, and finally found
safety in a land where she was to marry her kinsman who was the
representative of her Saviour remaining faithful until the end.
My
other choice is the Shulamite woman.....who actually was a beautiful
country Gentile girl, from another hated generation, she wrote a
diary about the shepherd of her life. She had a dream and with
confidence and surety wrote down all her thoughts as she presented
herself as a chosen person in the sight of all who met her. Even
though she was different she considered herself lovely and knew the
responsibility of her appearance was related to the work she put in
her vineyard and desired to be lovelier but she knew she was all she
could be. She understands her position in a relationship. She had
strength of spirit that was impressive.
I
would encourage you to read their stories and be encouraged that no
matter what walk of life you come from that God has a place for
you!!!
The word for May
is..........Heart..........guard
it, protect it, build it and let it rest ............
Song of Solomon 2:12
12 The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; read chapters 1 & 2
Ruth 4: 14-15
Then the women said to Naomi,
“Blessed be the Lord, who has
not left you this day without a redeemer, and may his name be renowned in Israel!
15 He shall be
to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age....

Too
Busy for a Friend.....
One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name.
Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down.
It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers.
That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual.
On Monday she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. 'Really?' she heard whispered. 'I never knew that I meant anything to anyone!' and, 'I didn't know others liked me so much,' were most of the comments.
No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on.
Several years later, one of the students was killed in Vietnam and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student. She had never seen a serviceman in a military coffin before. He looked so handsome, so mature.
The church was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk by the coffin. The teacher was the last one to bless the coffin.
As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. 'Were you Mark's math teacher?' he asked. She nodded: 'yes.' Then he said: 'Mark talked about you a lot.'
After the funeral, most of Mark's former classmates went together to a luncheon. Mark's mother and father were there, obviously waiting to speak with his teacher.
'We want to show you something,' his father said, taking a wallet out of his pocket 'They found this on Mark when he was killed. We thought you might recognize it.'
Opening the billfold, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had obviously been taped, folded and refolded many times. The teacher knew without looking that the papers were the ones on which she had listed all the good things each of Mark's classmates had said about him.
'Thank you so much for doing that,' Mark's mother said. 'As you can see, Mark treasured it.'
All of Mark's former classmates started to gather around. Charlie smiled rather sheepishly and said, 'I still have my list. It's in the top drawer of my desk at home.'
Chuck's wife said, 'Chuck asked me to put his in our wedding album.'
'I have mine too,' Marilyn said. 'It's in my diary'
Then Vicki, another classmate, reached into her pocketbook, took out her wallet and showed her worn and frazzled list to the group. 'I carry this with me at all times,' Vicki said and without batting an eyelash, she continued: 'I think we all saved our lists'
That's when the teacher finally sat down and cried. She cried for Mark and for all his friends who would never see him again.
So please, tell the people you love and care for, that they are special and important. Tell them, before it is too late.

Elbows
on your Windowsill
What are you looking at? What do you
see? Who is driving by? What is the weather doing today?
And all of a sudden an intake of a
quickened breath with mouth open a gasp of surprise as the rainbow
encircles your valley and a quick promise is the first thought that
rises from the front of your head
And shall i add that a slight smile is
formed from your lips as you thank God for all things beautiful.
You feel beautiful...for the rest of
the day!!!
You know that God loves you.
You can go about your work for at least
the morning!
As a hoodie clad couple walk by, you
open your window and shout a good morning!

APRIL NEWSLETTER
Time
in a bottle
Three bottles of perfume have occupied a little space in one of my drawers for many years, are the opening thoughts for the message in this letter to you. One of the bottles has been in a silver tin container with a lot of other trinkets. Each time I open the tin its amazing perfume fills the air and I breath deep to take it all in, remembering years ago the guessing game we played with you at a ladies meeting one time.

One of the bottles has been in a silver tin container with a lot of other trinkets. Each time I open the tin its amazing perfume fills the air and I breath deep to take it all in, remembering years ago the guessing game we played with you at a ladies meeting one time.
In Bible times you remember the story of a lady who carried
a bottle of perfume close to her, waiting for the right
moment , forgetting the years of selfishness , not minding
the time she had spent in purchasing this most precious bottle, then kneeling on the floor, she washed the feet of Someone who
knew her heart as an aroma that surrounded his memory and confirmed
the reason He had come to the earth. Luke 7:36-50
this is what was in her bottle: Like oil upon Your feet
Like wine for You to drink
Like water from my heart
I pour my love on You.......
Today i would like to give you the word Time.....the moments you spend in a kind something for someone, the moments you seek out Christ for him to bless you, the moments you allow another person their expression of thoughts, the moments...you interact with another person... because that is all it takes to make a difference and breathe in the results!

who are being saved and among those who are perishing,

HOUSE ABANDONED
Listen to the empty house each room tells a story
voices dance in the stale air that follow newcomers
whisper in their ears, whirl and wait on the carpets
then fade like an echo into silence.
if you feel the brush of hair on your face
don't turn, follow the scent of time
if you look out the windows
watch the long shadows cast by trees
over there....by the bushes
don't turn around! just follow the scent!!
I wish you a happy and eventful April creating memories!! best wishes from bev
